Making Christmas Puddings for me is all about tradition and keeping it alive. If my grandmother, Janet Lithgow was hear today, l know she would be the proudest grandmother on the plant and that makes me happy. Gran was all about tradition. She would make our family puddings and the table was always set with silver cutlery, silver serving platters, silver salt and pepper shakers. So that's where the "Silver" in Silver Penny Puddings comes from.

Silver Penny Puddings aim is to produce the best Traditional English Christmas Pudding with quality Australian produce. There are no added colours, flavours or additives.

Each year production commences in early Spring to ensure customers receive a mature and developed pudding for their Christmas table. The ideal compliment is our rich and smooth Spiced Brandy sauce. This is also produced at Silver Penny and was awarded a Gold Medal at the Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards in 2016 and 2018


Most Christmas puddings on the market today are made using butter. Silver Penny Puddings uses the more traditional ingredient, Suet. This produces a much lighter and richer flavour.

Over the past ten years Silver Penny has grown from a small number of puddings for family, friends and market stalls to a commercial quantity production. Now we are on the shelves of many retail outlets and supermarkets, with distributors in WA, SA, NSW and VIC. The list of stockists is growing rapidly.

 

When each oven cycle finishes and l open the oven door and look at these beautiful puddings come out all steamy and glossy, it makes me proud.
 

2017 and 2018 saw a collaboration with Four Pillars Gin, making their Christmas Gin Christmas Pudding, which sold out in a couple of hours.

My aim is to deliver you with a product that you will love and would recommend to others. So please, ENJOY!
