Silver Penny Puddings goal is to produce the best Traditional English Christmas Pudding with quality Australian produce. There are no added colours, flavours or additives.
Each year production commences in early Spring to ensure customers receive a mature and developed pudding for their Christmas table. The ideal compliment is our rich and smooth Spiced Brandy sauce. This is also produced at Silver Penny and was awarded a Gold Medal at the Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards in 2016.
Fat equals Flavour
Most Christmas puddings on the market today are made using butter. Silver Penny Puddings uses the more traditional ingredient, Suet. This is a hard, pure white fat that surrounds the kidney and loin of beef and produces a much lighter and richer flavour.
Over the past ten years Silver Penny has grown from a small number of puddings for family, friends and market stalls to a commercial quantity production. Now we are on the shelves of many retail outlets and supermarkets. The list of stockists is growing rapidly.
